The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced June 16 2022 that Ada, Elmore, Valley and Lewis counties are at high community risk, which means that the most stringent public health measures the CDC offers are now in place.

In the affected counties, all residents should wear a well-fitting mask in public indoor settings, regardless of vaccination status, according to the CDC. Residents should also consider avoiding nonessential indoor activities in public where they could be exposed, and also talk to health care providers about whether other precautions are necessary.

Canyon County was placed at the medium risk level, when immunocompromised people should talk to a health care provider about whether to wear a mask, according to the CDC.
