ACMS Online Community Standards (revision 3/10/22)

Thank you for being part of our online medical community. To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.

By joining and using this community, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. You also agree to reserve discussions and shared files and content to that which is best suited to the medium. This is a great medium with which to connect with your peers and other professionals, solicit their advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, make new friends, and participate in an ongoing conversation. Questions should be directed to the Executive Director at the bottom of this page.

To preserve a climate that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate membership in the online community for anyone who violates these rules.

Online Community Rules

  • Don't challenge or attack others. The discussions and comments are meant to stimulate conversation not to create contention. While we desire the medical profession to have rich, robust discussions with divergent opinions, please let others have their say, just as you may in a respectful manner.
  • Use caution when discussing products. The information posted on the lists and in the libraries is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, antitrust, and copyright laws.
  • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive or illegal materials are strictly prohibited.
  • Remember that other participants may reproduce postings to our sites via screenshots or forwarded messages.
  • ACMS reserves the right to remove messages or content for any reason at its own discretion.

  • ACMS does not actively monitor the site for inappropriate postings and does not on its own undertake editorial control of postings. However, if any inappropriate posting is brought to the attention of ACMS we will take all appropriate action.
  • By posting on our website, you grant ACMS and users of our sites the nonexclusive right and license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print, and use such information or other material within its discretion.
  • Messages should not be posted if they encourage or facilitate members to arrive at any agreement that either expressly or impliedly leads to price fixing, a boycott of another's business, or other conduct intended to illegally restrict free trade. Messages that encourage or facilitate an agreement about the following subjects are inappropriate: prices, discounts, or terms or conditions of sale; salaries; profits, profit margins, or cost data; market shares, sales territories, or markets; allocation of customers or territories; or selection, rejection, or termination of customers or suppliers.
  • ACMS reserves the right to terminate online community access to any user who does not abide by these guidelines, whether or not they explicitly agreed to them or knew of their existence.
  • ACMS will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on ACMS or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of ACMS; (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of ACMS, or the public; or (d) for other reasons stated on this page.
  • ACMS may occasionally update these online community standards to reflect company and customer feedback. ACMS encourages you to periodically review these standards so that you know how we expect you to play nicely in the sandbox with others.
